Nythrex vs Langfuse, Helicone and OpenTelemetry dashboards
Langfuse, Helicone, LangSmith and OpenTelemetry dashboards count the cost of LLM requests. But they are built for the requests of your product. Nythrex counts what your developers’ AI coding tools cost each code change, and combines that with CI, deployments and cloud.
Different jobs, similar charts
| LLM observability | Nythrex | |
|---|---|---|
| What it measures | your application’s LLM calls in production | developers’ AI tools while code is being written |
| Unit | request, trace, user session | an AI session linked to a commit and a pull request |
| Content | usually stores prompts and responses for debugging | stores no prompts, responses or code |
| Next to it | latency, quality, evaluations, prompt management | CI, deploys, cloud, tasks of the same project |
| Answers the question | does our LLM feature work well, and what does it cost | what did the delivered change cost, and what should change |
| Setup | SDK, proxy or OTLP export | one command on each developer machine |
When to choose what
Langfuse
You are building an agent or LLM product and need tracing, evaluations and prompt management.Helicone
You need a gateway in front of LLM APIs with logging, caching and quick cost dashboards.OpenTelemetry stack
You already run Grafana or another backend, and raw Claude Code usage metrics are enough.Nythrex
You need to know what AI costs your development, by change and by project, together with CI and cloud — and what to do about it.

What the link to code gives you
- you see AI sessions that never ended in a commit — and what they cost;
- the cost of a pull request includes AI and CI, not just tokens;
- an expensive model on helper requests and cache rewrites after pauses are found by rules automatically;
- spend breaks down by project, team and person. AI cost tracking.
常见问题
Claude Code can export telemetry to OpenTelemetry. Why Nythrex?
Telemetry tells you who spent how much. It does not tell you which commit, pull request and deploy that led to, and it does not add CI and cloud. Nythrex connects those records and calculates the cost of the change — without you running your own collection stack.
Can Nythrex and Langfuse be used together?
Yes, they do not overlap: Langfuse or Helicone watch your product’s LLM requests, Nythrex watches the spend of AI tools in development.
Does Nythrex see prompt contents, like LLM tracing does?
No. This is a fundamental difference: Nythrex receives only request metadata — time, model, tokens, cost — with no prompt or response text.
